Rule 59
Procedure for providing copies of documents to concerned persons

(1) An interested person may request a copy of any document in the customs office by submitting an application to the customs officer.
(2) When making an application in accordance with sub-rule (1), the applicant must also disclose the details clearly identifying the document requested by him and the purpose for which the document is needed and how he is an interested person.
(3) Upon receipt of the application according to sub-rule (2), if the customs officer finds that the application is reasonable after conducting the necessary investigation, within three days of the receipt of the application, he shall prepare a copy of such document and take the receipt according to sub-rule (4) and provide it to the applicant.
(4) According to sub-rule (3), a fee of five rupees per page will be charged for giving a copy of the document. The customs officer can collect such amount from the concerned person and deposit the income in the revenue account or put the stamp of the customs office on that amount.
(5) According to sub-rule (4) when collecting the fee, the income has been blocked by collecting cash or the ticket has been cancelled, it should be mentioned in the document to be provided to the applicant.
